If you're looking for a cozy and charming spot to indulge in some culinary delights while soaking in a soothing atmosphere, The BackBurner - Khaleejiya is a gem nestled in the Khaleejiya Complex on Jaber Al-Mubarak Street, Kuwait City. This art cafe offers a unique blend of creativity and comfort, making it a perfect escape for anyone who appreciates good coffee, delightful sweets, and serene surroundings.

The cafe boasts an inviting ambiance with both indoor and outdoor seating options. Its minimalist decor sets the stage for a peaceful retreat, ideal for those who seek a quiet place to work or simply relax. Picture yourself enjoying the gentle breeze in the lush green area outside, perhaps during a tranquil sunset in Ramadan, as you sip on your favorite beverage. Customers rave about the calm environment, making it an excellent spot to unwind or catch up on work.

The menu here is diverse and enticing, showcasing an array of pastries that cater to both sweet and savory cravings. From sumptuous cookies and babka to delectable pound cakes and flaky croissants, there's a treat waiting for everyone. The grilled cheese sandwich is particularly noteworthy, with its warm, gooey interior served perfectly toasted—a favorite among those looking for a cozy lunch option.

Early risers are in for a treat, as The BackBurner opens its doors at 6:30 AM, serving a rich cup of flat white alongside Greek yogurt and granola, perfect for jump-starting your day.

However, be prepared for a leisurely pace; a few reviews indicate that service can sometimes be slower than expected, particularly during rush hours when the cafe is quiet. While this could be a concern for some, many find that the cafe's overall ambiance compensates for any slight delays. After all, where better to relax and savor your drink than in such a picturesque setting?

Overall, The BackBurner - Khaleejiya encapsulates the essence of a modern art cafe with a warm touch. The combination of delightful menu offerings and a serene atmosphere makes it a must-visit location in Kuwait City, ideal for sweet indulgences, a casual meet-up, or a peaceful solo escape.

Backburner Coffee Shop – A Peaceful Ramadan Sunset Escape During my visit to Backburner Coffee Shop at sunset during Ramadan, the atmosphere was wonderfully calm and serene. The shop was quiet, with a slow pace that made it the perfect spot to unwind. The weather was perfect for sitting outside, surrounded by a lush green area—ideal for relaxation. I opted for a classic grilled cheese sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The bread was perfectly toasted, and the cheese was melted to gooey perfection, offering a comforting, satisfying bite. Paired with a refreshing saffron drink, the flavors were unique and subtly aromatic, adding a lovely touch of warmth and complexity to the meal. Overall, it was a delightful and peaceful experience. Backburner Coffee Shop is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy a meal, especially during the calm moments of Ramadan.

Beautiful cozy tiny place for an escape to get a cup of coffee .. located in a quiet place .. newly innovated square .. as for me .. I go there in the very early morning for a rich cup of flat white and a bowel of greek yoghurt and granola .. As it opens at 6:30 am and in the heart of Kuwait City for whoever is working there in the same area ..

Noticed the cafe from the street and gave it a try. The place is minimalist decorated, it has indoor and outdoor seating and it’s a nice place to work from your laptop too. The prices are a bit higher than all the other places we had coffee, and can’t say that the coffee was better. The staff is ok, maybe a bit too loud at times, but the overall experience was good.

nice atmosphere, they have indoor outdoor seating. they're coffee is nice i ordered the flat white, although i think if you want it strong you've got to add a double shot of coffee, the regular flat white isn't that strong.
